Students will learn about words and expressions, variables and expressions, properties of operations on numbers, ordered pairs and relations, equations, tables and graphs, and scatter plots(chapter One). They will also learn about integers and other sets of numbers,absolute value, ordering and comparing integers, adding and subtracting of integers, multiplication and division of integers, applications on integers, and reflections and translations in the coordinate plane(chapter two). Students will learn the concept of rational numbers and other sets of numbers (whole, natural, integers, irrational and real numbers), relate rational numbers to fractions and decimals, learn operations on rational numbers(addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), learn real-world applications of rational numbers and operations with them

(chapter three). Students will learn the distributive property and expressions, simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions, solve equations by addition and subtraction, solve equations by multiplication and division,  solve two- and multi-steps equations, write and solve equations(chapter four).
