Quarter One
In Qurater One students will learn about factors, divisibility of numbers, prime and composite numbers, square numbers and square roots (chapter One). They will also learn the addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimals and estimating answers, estimating products, mutiplication of whole numbers and decimals, and comparing large numbers(chapter two). Students will learn division facts and extensions. Division algorithms and strategies, division of whole numbers, division of decimals (chapter three). The will learn about fractions, decimals and percents, fractions and mixed numbers review, comparing and ordering fractions and mixed numbers, rules for finding equivalent fractions,fraction and decimal conversions, fraction and percent conversion, bar and circle graphs, and reading and making circle graphs(chapter four)
In quarter two the students will learn the following topics:

-Natural Measures of Length.
-Stem-and-Leaf Plots.
-Mystery Plots.
-Sample Size and Sound Conclusions.
-Analysis of Sample Data.
-Using Benchmarks with Fraction Addition and Subtraction.
-Common Denominators.
*Exponents and Negative Numbers.
-Exponent Notation.
-Exponential Notation for Power of 10.
-Scientific Notation.
-Parentheses in Number Sentences.
-Order of Operation
-Using Negative Numbers.
-Adding and Subtracting Negative and Positive Numbers.
