Quarter One

Students will learn about variables and expressions, properties of operations on numbers, order of operations, properties of numbers, the distributive property, equations, relations and functions, difference between relation and functions, ways of representing relations and functions (chapter One). They will also learn about writing equations, solving one-step equations, solving multi-step equations, solving equations with variable on both sides, solving equations involving absolute value, ratios and proportions, percent change, and solving lateral equations (chapter two). Students will learn how to graph linear equations and solving linear equations by graphing, rate of change and slope, direct variation, arithmetic sequences as linear equation, and proportional and nonproportional relationships.(chapter three).  

 

In this quarter the students will cover the following topics:

-Graphing Equations in Slope-Intercept Form.

-Writing Equations in Slope-Intercept Form.

-Writing Equation in Point-Slope Form.

-Writing Equation in Standard Form.

-Parallel and Perpendicular Lines.

-Scatter Plot and Line of Fit.

-Regression Models.

-Inverse Linear Functions.

*Linear Inequalities.

-Solving Inequalities by Addition and Subtraction.

-Solving Inequalities by Multiplication and Division.

-Solving Multi-Step Inequalities.

-Solving Compound Inequalities.

-Solving Inequalities Involve Absolute Value.

-Graphing Inequalities in Two Variables.

*SystemsSystems of Linear Equations and Inequalities.

-Graphing Systems of Linear Equations.

-Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Substitution.

-Elimination Using Addition and Subtraction.

Elimination Using Multiplication.

-Applying Systems of Linear Equations.

-Systems of Linear Inequalities.
