Quater One
Students will learn collection, displaying and interpreting data. They will learn line plots, stem-and-leaf, meadianm mean and mode and other statistical measurements, box plots, percent circle graphs, and samples and surveys(chapter one). They will also learn operations with whole numbers and decimals, reding and writing large and small numbers, adding and subtracting decimals, multiplication of decimals,division of whole numbers and decimals and scientific notation(chapter two). Students will learn about variables, formulas and graphs, general patterns, algebraic expressions, formula of patters, tables and graphs, reading and drawing graphs(chapter three). Students will also learn equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering fractions, adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers, multiplication of fractionsand mixed numbers, conversions between fractions, decimals and percents, and percent of a number(chapter four)
In quarter two the students will learn the following topics:

-Adding and Subtracting fractions and Mixed Numbers.

-Percent of a Number.
*Number Systems and Algebra Concepts.
-Number Systems and Sets.
-Adding and Subtracting Positive and Negative Numbers.
-Multiplying and dividing Positive and Negative Numbers.
-Absolute Value.
-The Properties of Number Systems.
-Order of Operations.
_Number Sentences.
-Solving Simple Equations.
-Equivalent Equations Method.
-Inequalities.
*Rates and Ratis.
-Rates, Rate Tables and Unit Rates.
-Solving Rate Problems and Proportions.
-Solving Proportions by Cross Multiplication.
-Using Proportions to Solve Percent Problems.
-Calculating the Fat Content of Food.
-Using Ratios to Describe Size Change.
-Comparing Ratios..
